Hi, I’m Andrea.

I’ve been teaching English for more than 25 years. I started by helping friends and family with their homework when I was 15, got my first job at an English academy at 19, and went on to teach at leading private and international schools in Samborondón, Ecuador. Along the way, I never stopped giving private classes, and in 2022 I left the classroom to dedicate myself fully to my private practice.
Wright English is where everything I’ve learned in those years comes together: my classes, my method, and the workbooks I’m creating for Spanish-speaking students.
Three generations, one craft
Language runs in my family. My grandmother, Ingrid Gaute, was a Belgian-born polyglot and one of the first translators in Ecuador. My mother, Maritza Reynoso, is a lawyer and translator. I grew up watching them move between languages as if they were rooms in the same house.
In 2017, El Universo told our story: three women, three generations, the same profession. That’s where the Wright English logo comes from. The W is drawn in three strokes, one for each of us.
How I teach
Most families come to me because their child is struggling with reading, and often with writing too. When I assess a student, I usually find the real gaps underneath: vocabulary, grammar, or the strategies that turn reading into understanding. That’s where we start.
I believe that reading and writing are skills, not talents. They can be taught, practiced, and trained. That’s why every Wright English class and workbook follows the same idea:
First, you follow a formula. Then, you discover the author’s. One day, you create your own.
A growth mindset sits at the heart of everything I do. Students don’t need to love reading to succeed. They need strategies, practice, and someone who shows them how. Confidence comes first, and very often, the love of reading follows.
